Education Report
Predatory Planned
Parenthood
U.S.
taxpayers are being forced to help sustain the nation's leading provider
of abortions—Planned Parenthood.
The 2002-2003 Annual Report for the Planned Parenthood Federation of
America (PPFA) reveals that the abortion provider performed a staggering
227,385 surgical abortions, while only 1,963 pregnant women were referred
to adoption agencies—a staggering 115 abortions for each adoption
referral. Incredibly, in the same time period this pillar of the abortion
industry collected $254.4 million from the federal government—our tax
dollars!
Planned Parenthood clinics have displayed a distinct trend toward death.
Since 1997, adoption referrals are down (79%); annual breast exams have
declined (5.26%); midlife services are down (54%); infertility clients
have declined (52% since 1995); and the number of prenatal clients has
fallen (8%).
Meanwhile, they have spent more than $200 million pushing their
irresponsible version of “sex ed” in our classrooms. Consequently, the
number of annual abortions has risen 37% and annual pregnancy tests are up
29%. The federal government’s reward? A more than 54% increase in federal
funding. In fact, over the past 14 years, the federal government has
provided Planned Parenthood with roughly $2.5 billion. Enough is
enough—Death and taxes do not mix!
The time has come for taxpayers to demand an end to the government funding
of Planned Parenthood.
