What’s Happening in Israel? 17 August 2006 “Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me. I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against Him, until He plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: He will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness.” Micah 7: 8-9 People have been dismayed by recent events. I do not speak of those in the world, but of godly people; who love the Lord, love the brethren, and love His Chosen People Israel. These are the people whose resilience has been shaken by a little over thirty days of events, where the might of Israel roared, yet her enemies declared victory. They have seen and understood Biblical prophecy concerning the helpless Jew, who after being persecuted and murdered for over two thousand years, suddenly being turned into a fighting force before whom enemies flee. What they do not realize is how Israel, after replying to enemy attack, devastating his strongholds, could have victory turned into defeat? Her enemies rejoice and dance in the streets, so excited over their proclaimed victory, they have forgotten to mourn their dead. In 1948, 1956, 1967, 1973 and1982 the Israelis faced Arab armies and defeated them, rendering them incapable of continued resistance. That was not the outcome in the events of this past month and inquiring minds should want to know why God might allow this to happen? Could it be because the stage is being set for God to do something wonderful, a thing that will bring about the circumstance that will fulfill key End Time prophecy? A careful reading of prophetic text leads me to believe that in the day that God acts Israel will be seen as helpless before her enemies. It is not without cause that events might be occurring at this time to bring these events about. For one thing, the leaders of Israel have been willing to give land for “peace” ignoring the fact land is a heritage given from the Lord. A careful look at recent events reveal the situation began to rapidly deteriorate for Israel when they signed on to a deal called The Roadmap for Peace. <”>< |
