Psychology in Church

If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.” Leviticus 20:13

Last night I had a curious dream. I was attending a Psychology class and got my textbook switched with a young black woman and wrote my notes into her book. It is funny how the mind works sometimes. I had thought about just such a young woman I know who is a writer during the previous day. I have one of her pieces, with her permission, posted on my website. But what was more curious about the whole thing was the Psychology class I was attending took place in a church!

Upon reflection, when I woke up, I realized that such a thing was not entirely so strange at all. Many churches have had some sort of Psychology taught in them instead of the Gospel of Christ for some time. Genuine observation of how and why people act has some benefit, but let’s face it. Psychology and its spin offs, psychiatry and psychoanalysis, have long deviated from simple observation of what make people tick into realms of the fanciful and political, often embracing the immoral along the way.

Recently I heard a group of sodomites, in a particular denomination, intended to conduct Bible studies to teach the “truth” about certain Bible passages. Their “truth” is no truth at all, but an attempt to justify their sin. Having already compromised psychology in that area, for not a few sodomites are in that business, they are also busily trying to corrupt the Church. And, in some areas they have had much success.

Usually the Biblical record they most want to attack is the account of the reason for the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. But the Bible has more to say against their sin than just that. It is condemned in both the Old and New Testaments. Already some new perversions of Scripture have compromised with the sin like some churches, but I suppose there might one day be a sodomite Bible produced. But that will not change God’s mind about the sin! So as psychology and its compromised sins seek to invade the church, we must always answer the question. Who is on God’s side? It usually means going against the way of the masses!
