The Fairness Doctrine

“It’s time to reinstitute the Fairness Doctrine."

Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin, D-Ill., June 26, 2007

The above statement uttered by this senator as Americans mobilized to stop the insanity of amnesty for illegal aliens indicates that the greatest enemy Americans have to be concerned about today is not Al Qaeda, but our elected representatives who have their own agenda. In government those who focus on control are tyrants and unfortunately we have would be tyrants drawing taxpayer money as they concentrate on destroying the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Much has been said about the effect The Fairness Doctrine would have on conservative talk radio but most have overlooked the impact it would have on Christian Broadcasting. With the fairness doctrine in place they could not only limit free speech but also force the broadcasters to give airtime, paid for by Christian organizations, to the most perverted and evil organizations about.

One recent decision of the Supreme Court against limiting free speech went virtually unnoticed. The court restored some free speech rights the McCain-Feingold campaign finance law stripped away from Americans. Most are not surprised Senator Feignold would not want third party groups taking out ads within 30 days of a primary and 60 days before a general election. Her crowd is still smarting from the Swift Boat Veterans exposing John Kerry during the last election. But that John McCain was behind this limit on free speech says something about his character that should not be forgotten since he wants to be President. But the liberals are using many resources including the IRS to try to silence conservative Christianity and this was one of them. The entire bill was a clear violation of the First Amendment.

The monsters in Congress have lost some battles lately but they are incorrigible. They will be back attempting to destroy human freedom in exactly the same areas where they already lost this battle. The reason is they intend to win the war, and let us not be misled. They are making steady incremental gains.
