Democrat’s Religious Adviser Embraces atheist causes

Most people are probably not even aware the Democratic Party has a religious adviser. They do. She is the Reverend Brenda Bartella Peterson. The very fact that the Democratic National Committer chose a woman minister demonstrates how very far those people are removed from an awareness of the beliefs of Christians who believe the Word of God. If that was not enough they chose a person from the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) a denomination that many believers does not even consider to be a truly Christian organization.

If her basic position and affiliation was not enough, let us look further into the life of their choice of a person to help them reach the Christian community. Rev. Mrs. Peterson was one of 32 signers of a U.S. Supreme Court amicus brief backing an atheist who sought to remove “under God” from the Pledge of Allegiance. Now there is someone who can really reach out to Christians and receive a ready welcome don’t you think?

Before the Dem’s chose her she was already well known as the executive director of the Clergy Network for National Leadership Change, a group trying to oust President Bush and undermine religious conservatives. That is how to really woo Christian people, hire someone to do it who is known for trying to undermine them. Her appointment was announced July 23, 2004 by DNC Chairman Terry McAuliffe supposedly as part of a Democratic effort to wrest America's religious voters away from Mr. Bush. The liberals are pleased.

A Catholic, William Donahue, got to the heart of the matter when he said "This is the person the Democrats want to dispatch to meet with the heads of religious organizations?…Are they out of their minds? Would they hire a gay basher to reach out to homosexuals?" History of DNC actions demonstrate DNC elites are anti-religious and contemptuous of Christians.
